Our Story

Driven by a love of animals, the environment, and health, Vander Heyden Farms was born to provide clean, sustainably raised meat to support your health and well-being. 

Grass-fed and finished means our animals haven't touched grain a day in their life. Rather, our livestock eats a variety of 15+ nutrition-dense grasses and plants, free from antibiotics, pesticides, insecticides, synthetic fertilizers and everything you don't want in your body.

Meet the Farmer 

Mike Vander Heyden

Mike was born and raised in Uxbridge, Ontario, and grew up loving animals, health, and big ideas. These interests ignited a passion for knowing where his food comes from and how it's raised. Thus, his dream was born to generate clean, sustainable food sources without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals. 

Working hard in the trades from a young age, Mike invested tirelessly and saved diligently to buy his own land. In 2019, he made his dream a reality, buying his first piece of land in Verner, located in Northern Ontario, Canada. Since then, he has accumulated over 800 acres where he raises his animals using regenerative agriculture practices.
